Wurstboro, NYA wonderful project working to eliminate plastic shopping bags from the Village of Wurtsboro. This project has a three-pronged purpose: Business Development, Reducing Our Footprint in the County Landfill, and Educating Students on creative ways to integrate the concerns of both businesses and environmentalists. "We planned (and succeeded) in making this project "no cost" to our village shopkeepers. We applied for, and received, organizational and corporate grants and gifts which paid for our entire effort.
